AGEPT - Accessible Gamified Experiences for Physical Therapy

AgePT is a Hidden Roll original project - Accessible Gamified Experiences for Physical Therapy. Using gesture detection, AgePT is a set of minigames that use gestures as input, allowing physical therapists to customize the games for their patients and track their progress. We all know that everything is much more fun with friends, so our team is building an online ecosystem allowing kids to play physical therapy games with each other from around the world, all while working on their individual PT goals.

XR Hooper - Immersive Basketball Experience

Debuting at IAPPA 2024, XR Hooper is an interactive basketball simulator where players can experience a variety of worlds and play different gamemodes against their friends. Our team integrated custom-built hardware and developed themed experiences to create an immersive simulator that responds to the actions of the players. Our experience building custom games and experiences has led to this expandable platform that will allow anyone to contribute and build their own content for everyone to play.

City Unseen - Award Winning AR App

CITY UNSEEN is an award-winning augmented reality public art project that features the work of artists around Orlando. These location-based AR experiences bring the city of Orlando to life, featuring live murals and 3D animations. Our team at Hidden Roll maintains and integrates new art into the app, bringing our expertise in experience development and design to recreate the vision of local artists.

Gizmo Lab VR

A VR sci-fi sandbox game with mechanics analogous to real-life electrical engineering. Designed as a tool for teaching electronics in a fun and engaging way, Gizmo Lab is an advanced toolkit to allow for building simple to advanced circuits while learning about their application to the real world.

Materio

Materio is a multiplayer roguelike where players must make strategic choices to build their class in a tabletop-style game. Each round, players are pitted against each other to fight it out as miniature versions of themselves in a first person shooter located in the center arena of the board.

Highlights: Custom multiplayer game servers, lag compensation, client-side prediction.

Unnamed Tunnel Game

Using the marching cubes algorithm for creating destructible terrain, this unnamed tunnel game features a set of custom compute shaders that generate custom worlds, allow for player building/destruction, and handle mesh exclusion for randomly generated structure spawns.

Highlights: Compute shaders, triplanar shaders, custom terrain painting system

Mixed-Reality Information Kit for Exploration (M.I.K.E.) - NASA SUITS

Winning the first ever NASA Innovation Award at the NASA SUITS Challenge in 2024, M.I.K.E. is an augmented reality heads-up display for astronauts. Featuring a virtual reality application that wirelessly communicates with the H.U.D. as a ground station, M.I.K.E. can connect to a set of wireless devices for customization of input.
